About the Sean Hurley Gone Fishing Foundation
Hello everyone! Thank you for gearing up and coming together for The Third Annual Sean Hurley Fishing Tournament. We want to welcome everyone and share in the name of Sean some heartfelt thoughts.
Sean was such a free spirit living and enjoying his life as an angler on the water. He was mentored at a very young age by several local captains chartering on the gulf waters. Sean was able to embrace the opportunity to learn and experience many lessons with these captains. His short life would be heavily influenced by many and often he would share about these fishing adventures. Sean’s passion for fishing continues to be the reason why we take the opportunity to give back to our fishing community and reach out to other worldly needs.
The support from family, co-workers, great friends, local businesses and just good people continue to make Sean’s memory and all of us proud. We are enthusiastic and excited to announce that the Sean Hurley Foundation donated to Freedom Waters where their mission is to enhance the lives of Children, veterans and individuals with special needs by providing therapeutic boat experiences. Also, on our list of donations is The Foundation for Ocean Kids where we will sponsor a child for summer camp focusing on CPR and developing water safety, boat safety and Junior Life Guard certification. Another donation was just made to the Bonefish and Tarpon Trust for both research and science based solutions to conserve and restore the flats fishery. We will strive to continue our offerings with the local fisheries and sponsoring our fishing community with much needed education.
As the weekend and the tournament proceed our thoughts for your safety will remain a priority. Once again, we want to thank you all for the support and sponsorship. Sean would be proud and over whelmed with such generosity and love as we are.
